Career Resolutions for the New Year - tri-starr talent

2017 is the Year of the Career. This is the year you break out of those old self-destructive habits and replace them with brand new, shiny New Year’s Resolutions. 2017 is the year you finally stick with your constructive, forward-looking routines. To help you on your journey to success, to a happier, healthier, more productive self, Tri-Starr Group offers our 4 Career Resolutions of Progress for 2017.

  1. Treat Yourself Right

The best way to begin a new life chapter is to start with your health. In 2017, no more skipping breakfast; go to bed earlier, wake up earlier, and eat a nutritious, protein-packed breakfast to give you the energy to make it through the day. Later, no skipping lunch either, and no eating at your desk. Throughout the day, take short breaks to provide your mind with some stimulation and relaxation. Go on a walk outside, work at a standing desk, and try to reach that mythical goal of the 10,000 step day. Finally, drink plenty of water. Your body will thank you.

  1. Be a Better Coworker

Here the name of the game is self-awareness. Interactions with your coworkers should follow this very basic rule: treat others the way you want to be treated. You’ve been hearing it since pre-school, but everyone needs an occasional reminder.

At work, help others by showing praise and offering encouragement; when you ask for help and receive it, loudly vocalize your appreciation. Do your best to create positive relationships, wherever you go.

  1. Work More Efficiently

Try tackling your day in a whole new way. Make to-do lists, set goals, and focus on one task at a time to stay organized during the work day. When the day comes to an end, take some time to reflect on the positives and negatives of the day, so you can hone in what you are doing right and correct what you are doing wrong. Setting aside some time for this will prepare you to make tomorrow an even better day than the last.

  1. Find the Right Mindset

Instead of just waiting, make the decision to be happy, productive, and healthy. With each decision you make, consider all of the possible outcomes and act once you are certain you have chosen the correct path. Do not be afraid to make changes; be honest with yourself and harness your courage, then ask for that raise or start looking for a new job. If you want something new, you have to do something new.
